Just about all of us have a preferred method of starting a fire – and know several different ways to create fire.
Most of us, however, give little thought to the kick-start every fire needs to take off – tinder.
Sure, we have a few cotton balls infused with Vaseline stuffed somewhere in our survival gear and those work in most cases, but is there a fail-safe tinder that will burn slower than the cotton balls and is readily available to most of us, whether you face a survival situation or not?
The answer is “yes” if you use a clothes drier.
While most people throw it away, the lint left over from every laundry load is highly flammable and treated and stored properly, it is a fail-safe fire starter.
