There are several elements involved if one is going to successfully make it through a survival situation.
Depending on the difficulty of the crisis a family faces, each of those elements – presence of mind, innovation, flexibility, preparation, and fitness are important keys to making sure we have what it takes to power through safely and quickly.
Fitness, however, is one area that is easy to overlook but it's just as important as the rest. If you are not physically able to perform certain tasks that are required in a survival situation, that will make the scenario a lot more difficult.
In some cases, not being physically fit or possessing the skills needed to thrive can lead to injury and possibly even death.
