Aquaponics 101: A Guide To Getting Started

A major facet to living a survival lifestyle is being as self-sufficient as possible.

The more prepared you are, the easier it will be to get through a crisis. Whether it's a short-term power outage or a longer term emergency, such as an electric grid failure, natural or man made disaster.

Part of being prepared is being able to feed yourself and one way of doing that is to grow your own food via a garden.

One option you have, besides the “square footage” style of gardening is Aquaponics.

Aquaponics is the merging of aquaculture and hydroponics, which takes waste from fish, converts it to fertilizer to be used for growing food and returns clean water back into the fish's living environment.

On the next page we explain a little bit about Aquaponics and how it can be used a good system for growing food and preserving fish habitat.
