While you may want to bug out to some remote stretch of wilderness in a SHTF situation, it may not be that easy. You may become stranded in the city by traffic or riots. The police or military could be enforcing a quarantine on the city, meaning leaving will be impossible.
There are a lot of scenarios in which you may be faced with urban survival. With the knowledge from the video below, there's no reason to think you shouldn't be able to come out on top.
How awesome was that? Learning to prepare for any situation is the key to being able to survive any situation.
While riots may clear out the obvious resources of many locations, they will likely leave the more important resources, like power and information, intact.
It's amazing to think that more people didn't make use of the libraries in New Orleans, as the knowledge found on those shelves was more valuable than most of the things that were actually looted.

I’ve seen this show, this guy is insanely impractical. Don’t follow his steps. Not only will they get you killed, also, they will impede the process of others.
