
One area of survival that is often overlooked is the ability to signal help and often the best way of doing that is using a whistle.
A whistle not only attracts attention, it also can be heard over long distances and is one of the most effective ways of pinpointing a location – even better in some environments than using smoke as a signal.
Some can be obscured by tree growth and also can be deceiving, depending on the wind.
What happens, though, if you do not have access to a whistle?
