Unfortunately, one constant of venturing off the beaten path in North America is that chances are better than a person will find a discarded plastic bottle of some sort.

The vast majority people will find are those XX ounce bottles soda comes in, but they will also find a fair amount of 2-liter bottles as well.

While this is a horrible reality for the environment and a true blight on the landscape, there is nothing worse than expecting natural beauty and being confronted with human detritus, it can be a godsend if you are in the middle of a survival situation.
