What is a Wofati and How to Build This Affordable and Eco-Friendly Structure

wofati

The name “wofati” was new to us. We hadn’t heard of this particular style of home before. Naturally, we had heard of log cabins, yurts, and even teepees – but a wofati?

For those living off the land, homesteaders, and the type of person that wants to build a home for half (or less than) the price of a regular structure this is gold!

It does help to own your own little parcel of woodland because most of the supplies come from nature. For those of you who have that well in hand, this could be the home for you!

After the break go to the next page and we will tell you more about a wofati and why it is an ideal home for not just homesteaders and survivalists but for everyone!

Thermal mass is a cool idea, water infiltration is a forever problem.
Eventually this will leak, no way around that, water will seek the path of least resistance under hydrostatic pressure.

The best possible structure in terms of cost and ease of construction is standard framing using super insulated principles.

Also, keep in mind carbon monoxide poisoning and fire egress.
This is a serious problem that isn’t considered enough imo.
Carbon monoxide, produced by a fire place burning oxygen and simply breathing, can kill every person in an airtight home within hours.
We’ve all seen news reports of entire families dying of carbon monoxide.
