(Video) This Little Trick Shows Us How Much Propane is Left in a Tank With No Gauge

Pouring Water on Propane Tank

Interestingly, we had a power outage not long ago due to downed power-lines after we were “touched” by a tornado in the Kentucky area. It was only for a couple of days, thank goodness, but that got us to thinking about alternate ways to cook the foods in our freezer.

We really had no idea how long we were going to be without power and it’s better to cook and eat meat rather than let it go bad.

Unfortunately, we have an electric oven and stove top, a mistake we will not make in our next apartment, so our best bet was outdoor cooking. Now, what if – despite that great idea – we discovered we were out of propane?

We did not know it because the tank felt heavy enough but we really don’t have a scale to measure our propane.

Is there a way, if you are ill-equipped, to see how much propane is in your tank? The answer is yes and the ingenious way to check it out is in the video on the next page.

If you use propane for anything you will want to watch this video!

How the heck is propane going to be “our best friend”, if it can’t be pumped or trucked to where you live, because – you know – the grid is down..?
