Having a way to obtain and store clean drinking water is of utmost importance when SHTF. If the power goes out for a long period of time, do you have a plan for how to get clean water when you have no electricity to your water pump?

If your stove is electric, too, you may not have a way to even boil water. For that reason, it's often important to have a way to do things that doesn't require electricity or fuel, just in case things are a little more long term than you originally planned.

While you could simply rely on a simple little camping water filter, the drawback to this method is that you'll have to do a lot of pumping. A lot of pumping. Or you could use a camp stove for boiling water. It would be better, though, to have a system that allows for purifying mass quantities at one time while also storing mass quantities of water.
