(Video) How to Charge a Car Battery… With a Chainsaw!

It is no secret to say if and when the grid goes down we are all going to have to rethink the ways we have gotten along for years. That means, in life and on the road.

If the car battery goes dead, there may not be a convenient Triple-A garage around the corner to get it going again and pick us up. Also, whatever instruments our friendly neighborhood mechanic uses to get our car moving will now be running at a premium. Think of the cost!

In other words, if we want to get around and use our own vehicle while doing it we are going to have to learn the basics of car repair and different ways to make our auto work in place of the modern convention!

After the break, check out the next page. If you ever wondered how you were going to charge a car battery with only minimal power or no power at all – you might simply look as far as the chainsaw you have hiding in your garage!

Learned this years ago from my dad that was a wood cutter used the lights going to the woods and forgetting to turn off when time for work

I read that as how to change a car battery with a chainsaw, and then I was severely disappointed.

No this doesnt work unless you have a little bit of juice left. Its called an exciter wire. Unless you are running a generator instead of an alternator

I’m going to try it. A 90 amp alternator only pulls down around 1.5 horsepower with a dead batt. So I can actually see this working.

Word to the wise, you can use a car alternator to make a Hydro electric generator. Think about it
