Even if you are the most prepared survivalist in the world, finding yourself in the stress of an actual survival setting is stressful and potentially panic-inducing.

If the situation is dire enough, even basic survival tasks become monumental efforts.

This is particularly true if there is any element of violence, shock, trauma or danger involved.
