Honestly, before we started to prep we pretty much consumed everything we had for its single purpose, we felt, here on earth. RE: A trash bag was simply used for trash, not as a possible survival raincoat. Dandelions were weeds that needed killing. Who knew they had medicinal uses and could be eaten? And that loaf a bread can be used for what?!

The point is, even the most basic items can be repurposed, used for many other things than what we foolish mortals consider their obvious purpose. And this includes motor oil. Yes, oil has its uses in the car and lawn mower but who knew oil – used motor oil – did not have to be thrown out once drained!

After the break go on over to the next page and read up on the many secondhand uses man can benefit from used motor oil! You will be amazed!

Used it for years on horse stalls and fencing to keep horses from cribbing (chewing on the wood) also used it on dirt roads for dust control. Buckets with a hose to a 1 in pipe with holes drilled in it across the back of a wagon. Slow streams while going down the road, mixes with dirt and gravel making a surface similar to a slurry coat. Packed down as vehicles drive over it. We kept drums off the stuff. Also made cow rubs with it. Stretch some chain between two posts wrap in burlap and soak with used oil cows would rub their backs on the chain to keep the Flys off.
