Parents Reported Their Newborn Was Taken From Them Due to Their “Off The Grid” Lifestyle

A couple in Alabama are fighting for their parental rights after a social worker took their newborn baby when it was discovered that couple had no address.

Last October, Christian and Danielle Holm left their campsite in Cheaha State Park to go to a hospital in Anniston where she gave birth.

The Department of Human Resources social workers then started investigating the couple to find out where they lived and what their lifestyle choices were.

According to Christian, the social workers were concerned about the couple's religious beliefs and their decision not to get their baby a social security number.

They also thought the couple's nomadic lifestyle was dangerous to the child's well-being. As a result, the DHS took the child and withheld information on his whereabouts.

Find out how Christian and Danielle are trying to get their baby back.

In other words if they cannot make money off of you, they’ll just take your kid? Has everyone gone mental since the ‘elections’?

The damage that will do to the bond between mother and child, no one has that right, scum bag social services

Should have been, man defended his family and buried thugs trying to kidnap his kid

Once upon a time, everyone was “off the grid”; how in the world did we get here?

More to this than meets the eye I’m sure. Media sensationalism. I see people in homeschooling circles post stuff like this and you later find out there was severe neglect, abuses, lack of basic necessities, etc.

Now this pisses me off. As long as the baby is feed and clean, and we’ll cared for. What the hell is it to the government..

I like how they demonized the state for intervening. I do think it’s a bit controlling, but look at their point of view – random couple comes in from wilderness to give birth, refuse to get SSN for child, want to disappear back into wilderness, and refuse to say where they’re going (perhaps in the event of an emergency, how do they help?). How do they know these people aren’t going to abandon or sell the child? It is a little odd. Also, are they refusing ban address for medical billing? They’re also demanding a lawyer that in assuming they don’t expect to pay for. There’s a lot more involved here, and I think most of it is regarding the well being of the child.

Off grid lifestyle…or unsanitary living conditions? The article says they where living in a camp ground, not exactly the place for a new born. I don’t agree with social workers but that could have been avoided if they had gotten a mid-wife instead. If you go to a hospital to have a child, social services always checks on the situation.

I’ll bet you they live in absolute squalor. A few years ago a vegan hippie couple refused to nurse their newborn and it almost died. There’s plenty of people who live off the grid and the authorities leave them alone. There’s more to this story than meets the eye.

IT’S NONE OF THE GOVERNMENT’S BUSINESS. End of story. If they didn’t wanna say anything you have that right. This is America. Not a fucking commie or socialist country.

Ok, man…just breathe and set the kool aid down. I don’t see a whole lot of Americans NOT trying to live here, either…so, play with the government or don’t live here, I guess.

People need to mind their own business. Live and let live…. Just because they desire a different lifestyle than many doesn’t make it wrong.

What?! I am so confused by this story. It feels and looks like BULLSHIT. Google this story. There are many stories about this one story… SMH.

I read they were from Alabama. I guess fake news really is everywhere. So sad though. This country could unite but it won’t. Isn’t there ANYBODY that actually looks to sanitize and realize what is real news?

Certainly I am not alone here. This page is likely all about clicks and likes for money. I am okay with that as long as what is posted is the truth.

When a page or any other “media” sources spread bullshit, that is not encouraging LIBERTY. That is encouraging division. I am so over all of that now. Politics, at any level, is not our friend.

Most of all, I hope that this actual baby is SAFE and okay!

Research what you post HSF. I know they pay you to post here. At least stand by some morals and research and post the TRUTH.

It’s bs, if they live off grid they did it for a reason. There’s no need to take the baby. Obviously they don’t want the government involved in their lives or they would live in the city. The government is not always right.

Man kind survived thousands of years without modern conveniences and they are concerned? Ridiculous! When you need CPS they are nowhere to be found, when you don’t need them they are all up in your business! Typical government bs

  16. David Schuster said:

I would think that they should not have entered the city and used their medical services if the government and system is so bad then. Don’t run to the wilderness, then come back for free services, and then complain that they’re interfering with your rights. Figure it out in the woods.

There have been a number of reports of kids born at home and never given ss#’s then being home schooled no govt recording of their life they get to 16-20 and decide to leave home and have no proof they are a citizen can’t get jobs can’t get help because they can’t show they are a citizen

  18. David Schuster said:

That a whole other side to it, too – the fact that it’s literally just making a difficult start for the child. I’m not saying they don’t have the right to raise the child their way, but there are just certain things that are sketchy about this story, and I don’t think the parents are really having the best interest of the child in mind.

  19. Corey Smith said:

It’s a suppose to be a free country and they have every right to not have the government involved. I drink no Kool aide unlike yourself sir. Brainwashed into patriotism to support every war and every aspect the government tells you. Sounds more like you’ve drank the kool-aid yourself sir.

  20. David Schuster said:

Uhhh….I can’t help but laugh, if you could only see my very liberal FB wall. I am far from your opinion of me, sir. If they want every right to not have the government involved, that’s fine – but don’t come in the city using state and government funded medical services then. Don’t ask for a state funded lawyer to protect your rights. I have no problem helping those in need, but when you abuse the help and then try and criminalize those that helped you for your lack of respect for their process, I am not going to take your side. This isn’t just about them, it’s about a child that apparently isn’t getting a say.

Infant mortality was through the roof “in the good old days”. This couple is clearly choosing their lifestyle over their son. The situation sounds downright dangerous.
