Your bed can be the most divine place in your home. It beckons you after walking through the door after a long day at work and comforts you with the promises of sweet dreams.

A nice mattress can be just as nice as sleeping on a soft cloud (or what we imagine a soft cloud would feel like), and in contrast, a bad mattress can be the bane of our existence.

The truth of the matter is that a quality mattress matters and so does having a clean one! As well as remembering to regularly rotate that mattress, it's also important to clean it.

It's gross to consider just how much sweat and dirt gets soaked into a mattress and in the sheets. Don't even think about the creatures that may be burrowing in a mattress if it's rarely cleaned.

After the break check out some tips on how to clean a mattress. All it takes is one item that you likely have in your pantry!

It is best to vacuum every time you rotate your mattress, or once a season. The key: “use a clean upholstery attachment” since the vacuum has, well, a dirty job.
Deodorize the mattress by sifting baking soda over it, let it sit for 30 minutes and then vacuum it up with the clean upholstery attachment.
If you need to tackle stains, the main three are protein, grease and tannin, with protein being the ones you see on the mattress. Maker says it’s best to blot liquid stains, using a pressing motion.

Yes they are ridiculously expensive! Bought our last one from a garage sale for $100 & it’s better than the one I had before that was $900 sealy! Just find one that’s not stained & look in the seams for the bed-bug droppings (looks like flea-poop, blk dots). If all is good there then do the baking soda treatment & vacuum. Also a mattress cover helps make them last longer. That one bed I tagged u abt looked a lot like the one I have now.
