The reason why a person should hide their survival gear is many, but two major reasons come to mind: It is to stay safe and for convenience.

This can be convenient because you have your survival gear on your person as daily body wear (women may wear a paracord bracelet or necklace). You don't necessarily have to pack it all in your bug out bag!

Safety can be mean many things, but if we consider one of the most important aspects of all, it is never a good idea to advertise that you are a survival expert.

Once a situation turns bad you will be the go-to woman or guy for advice, which can get tiresome after a while. However, if people find out what you have in your survival arsenal it can be a potentially dangerous proposition.

It's always better to be a stealth person who flies under the radar then making all of your intentions known.
