You look up in the sky, either while standing on your back porch or when you are camping out in the wilderness. You recognize all the familiar stars and planets, the big and little dipper… Mars… or is that Venus? That real bright one is Alpha Centuri, right?
Or maybe it is Pleiades?
That’s a new one, eh? In a recent episode of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Neil deGrasse Tyson talks about Pleides and how it is nature’s eye test.
The mass is made up of seven stars (aka: The Seven Sisters) and is found in the constellation Taurus. It is said if you can see five of the seven stars you have “normal vision” but if you can see all seven you have the eyes of a mercenary and are ready for battle!
