While preparing for a mass, doomsday survival situation is important, it is far more important to deal with the type of survival scenario most of us will face – a shorter-term, inconvenient situation that will require a moderate level of preparation.

To be clear, that is not to say preparing for the worst is a waste of time.

But the reality is the vast majority of us in North America will not likely ever face a doomsday scenario or if we do, civil authorities will be at the ready to help us get through it.

No matter how prepared we are, if it is truly “doomsday,” very few of us will be capable of functioning without help.

That is why at the least, a common sense approach to survival is a good starting point.
