matches

Here are three things that most preppers probably don't know about matches!

As preppers, we all know how important matches are. We have a large stockpile of them because they are so useful. They help us make a fire so that we can stay warm, cook our food, signal for help and even boil water so that it is safe for us to drink.

However, beyond using them to light a fire, how much do we really know about matches?

We know that we have to strike them against the matchbox or on the ground to get them to work. We also know that matches are small, which makes it easy for us to fit them in our bug out gear.

Most of us probably have never thought to consider how long matches have been around or how they have become what we use today. After learning more about matches, we may begin to value them even more.

Lighters are superior in every way to a match. Harder to break, more lights in one lighter than over 100 boxes of matches, cheaper by the light, water proof, take up less space, AND they can be kept in ANY environment for an indefinite amount of time. (Within reason).
