Our children are our future. It is our natural instinct to protect them from the dangers of the world. But as adults, we also have a tendency to want to shield them from the things we feel that they’re not ready to learn.
While our intentions are good, we are doing a great disservice to our kids if we assume they’re not mature enough to take care of ourselves.
It is our duty to provide them with the necessary tools to survive. Once SHTF, there’s no telling what will happen.
You might not be around to teach them at that point, and you’ll be comforted to know that they will be all right.

Hmmm. Having quality toppo maps of areas you are in, might be in, or aren’t in but border your area, and being able to read and use them is a good idea.
